The whole process can be a complex one, but if you follow the procedures - which are very well documented - you shouldn't have any problems.

More than a year ago I bought the certificate, they gave a quick response, I downloaded and the CSS was installed without any hazzel. Short before due date I received several offers to save some money buying the new certificate. Notifications help not to pass the datelines. When it was time to renew the certificates, the process ran again rather smooth. I had some issue and they were attentive, quick and effective. Their service is great. I recommend it.

I don't understand the negative reviews I'm seeing here. Maybe the customer service is spotty, but in my experience, it was incredible. I'd never had to buy a signing certificate or sign an application and they walked me through the whole process. I seriously screwed up so many things and they continued to patiently assist me. The customer service rep was helping me with computer problems well beyond the scope of the code signing. Never, ever, have I had better customer service. Even the time GrubHub gave me free food because my order was late. Bravo, Thawte.

I always find the customer support from Thwates really helpful. You never feel like they are just trying to get you off the line, they will hang around until the problem is solved and they do know what they are talking about.

We have been using Thawte certificates for several years without major problems. Recently this year, we realized our certificate was about to expire in two days. So we needed to renew our certificate in an urgent manner. After contacting support center and explain them that we needed the certificate urgently, they kindly phoned us and sent us the new certificate in less than an hour.

Instead of providing a list of information they would need to verify our site ownership and issue our certificate, they asked for one piece of information at a time, delaying our order for weeks. 4 weeks after placing our order they still haven't even called to verify our phone number. A VERY slight difference in how our business name is listed in the domain Registrant information vs our Legal Company name has caused another 3 day delay. After waiting so long, we signed up through Geotrust and our certificate is due to be issued within 24 hours after a phone verification during business hours. DO NOT do business with Thawte. After reading the other horror story reviews, I'm surprised our hosting provider is a reseller of this company's SSL products.

It took 25 days to communicate with Thawte support personell to request proforma invoice. Additionally, their web interface didn't allow to modify or cancel the order. So I couldn't prolong the certificate while an for which I couldn't get the proforma invoice was hanging. So I finally switched from Thawte to CheapSSLs https://www.cheapssls.com/ at 1/10th of the price.

It will give enormous amount of issues - -will not work with different version of IE -Will have issues in running the site in Safari -will have expensive supports and if you take the certificate from the reseller (who are any way unresponsive and unreliable) shall not respond as well

Whatever you do dont make a mistake and order the wrong item as trying to get a refund is like trying to climb 300000 stairs with no legs. Have my bank trying to reverse the transaction after trying for 4 weeks to get a refund.
