Product: Positive SSL

My company ordered the Positive SSL 11 days ago. Still no certificate issued for our website. Every time we inquire about the order support we receive more or less the same answer: "Kindly apologize, Your order is kept under the review soon it will be processed." 9 days ago we received the following answer: "We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. your certificate will be issued within today." Well guess what - no certificate was issued that day. Two days later we received the following answer after filing a complaint: "Thank you for the kind response. This is to inform you that your order has been kept under review and will be issued within a business day." Today - as said after 11 days still no certificate. Comodo is seriously hurting our business which goes nowhere because we have to wait....for what I don't know. And this is a simple certificate, not an EV, wildcard or something else. Should be quite easy to process. We are definitely NOT going to buy any more certificattes from Comodo. I am sorry, but after what we have experienced, the company cannot be recommended. Shame on you Comodo! Your customer service is BAD!

We purcahsed an EV SSL from Comodo a little over 2 years ago and it was seemless and integration was easy. We originally had the basic SSL and went for the EV version after much deliberation, after sending through the paperwork it took about 1 day to get the information needed and we where up and running in no time at all, it does take someone who knows about programming to create the CSR and install the EV SSL so i think alot of the issues with this thread are people who ARE NOT programmers and are trying to install the SSL with little ot no programming experince, i am an experienced programmer and the installation was a piece of cake and the cost was a quauter of what i would have paid for a Verisign version

Overly confusing and NO REAL SUPPORT after the sale!

Salesman kept calling but I didn't bite. Comodo deal kept getting better an better after each call so I eventually bought. BIG MISTAKE! He took my money and Comodo could not get the EV SSL to work after 3 days! Kept saying: "awaiting validation" even after I gave them all the docs and info they requested. I tried all avenues of support and essentially nobody knew what to do and had to resort to escalating my issues to the validation dept. I do not recommend Comodo! They lure people in with their free services then slam the you know what out of you if you want any of their paid services.

Unlike many of the reviews here I've had a positive experience with Comodo. I never had a problem so I never had to go through support which seems to be where they get the most complaints. I'm just using one of the simpler certificates that doesn't provide anything beyond encryption. I originally got the InstantSSL free certificate which I think lasts for 3 months. After it expired I ordered a one year certificate for around $75 which gave me no problems. Then my host at the time started selling Comodo's certs for just $15 per year. I currently have three domains using these without issue.

Good experience

Product: SSL Premium Wildcard

I have just purchased a Wildcard certificate from Comodo. I initially called them to ask a few questions and we changed some e-mails, they answered in the same day which was very prompt and thorough in detail. We went on to discuss different payment options and whether Comodo could provide a Pro Forma Invoice so my company could arrange a payment to be setup. Without hesitation Comodo arranged for this to be done without any complaints, even when amendments were needed within the initial invoice this was corrected and sent out without any hesitation. Once the payment was initiated we finally we made the request for the certificate, with the common name mydomain.com and submitted to Comodo, I forgot the most important item the wildcard character (*). The guys in Comodo got in-touch and requested a new CSR to be generated, once this was provided to them they accepted the request, again with no problem or issues. Some days later my company finally make the payment and immediately COMODO send us the wildcard certificate, but it didn't work. A message appeared saying that "private key don't match with the certificate", again no problem. I called them and the guys at Comodo suggested we generate a new CSR with a new private key, which I subsequently did and submitted, after 5 minutes of submitting the new CSR I received the new certificate, everything OK, working properly. My account manager was Nilesh Patel, nice guy, very prompt and efficient service. Overall a nice company to work with, I was treated with a personal touch which I a rarity these days.

Customer service speed very slow - order still not filled 28/10/10

I run a company based in Auckland New Zealand. The company has a website, a DUNS number, and can be easily and freely searched on NZ Whitepages and the government run companies office. I carefully filled out all paperwork and everything was in order. Despite this I got constant excuses and stalling over their "validation call". They can't even make up their mind whether they are going to call me ours or theirs business hours. Due to the time difference I have stayed up late, given them a 24/7 extension number and waited, and waited while asking for the validation call using their live chat. For some totally unfathomable reason they apparently escalated what should be a straight forward, easy to fill order. I'm still waiting.

After issuing Secorio certificates for more than 2 months my opinion is that though the website is not the most intuitive the personal service is very good. They response fast and they response all our needs.

We were renewing a wildcard SSL, with a multi domain EV certificate. The multidomain EV certificate got held up because our address in Whois (correct) did not match the form in Comodo (which did not allow the same format), even though the same info was entered. We phoned customer support international UK to USA, and were promised that our EV certificate would be issued the next morning 16 hours before expiry. Comodo broke there agreement and have still not issued the EV certificate. Our certificate expired and to minimise the loss to ourselves and our customers we purchased a standard wildcard certificate from Comodo. This also was delayed, and there was no phone support from Comdo since there offices were closed. We looked for a provider with 24hr phone support, found godaddy, and purchased a certificate that was issued in 1hr 27 minutes. The comodo non ev certificate that was ordered prior to godaddy was issued 8hours 20 minutes after go daddy and 11hours after request. Clearly we are never going to use Comodo or InstantSSL ever again. We have still not got the Comodo EV certificate, and hopefully never will.

Comodo is easily the worst I've worked with so far. Their customer support is pretty much unresponsive. The responses we receive are in broken English and unclear. They definitely do not care about their customers. Look elsewhere for your Extended verification cert.

We ordered a ssl cert from comodo and less that a year ago and they removed our cert that we purchased for a year after only 8 months. They rebilled my card , so i figured ok we will try to get the cert back up and see if they will tack on a few months. I have been jumping through hoops showing them my drivers license, business certificates, etc.. and after days we have still not been verified even after we were already and existing customer. I went with another company and i am reversing charges! you should do the same. Do not do business with these guys. The will rip you off..

Ordered SSL certificate on the Friday (mid morning) on behalf of one of our customers. Validated it within 5 minutes of ordering the certificate. It was still showing as "awaiting validation" by c.o.b on that same day. It took them 3 days and numerous Emails to support before we got it and even then, the EMails we were receiving were mentioned DCV validation (whatever that is, I've never heard of it after 3 years in the game). The guys are idiotic morons.

Ordered the free 90 day trial and it went through immediately. Was using a free SSL before but it's browser compatibility was poor. COMODO works on every browser I've tried apart from Blackberry. Even works on iPhone, Android etc...

Received an e-mail from them or a Phishing e-mail. So i called to confirm it is them. The sales rep said he needed to check with his supervisor. Came back yes they are offering a new customer special. Asked a second question and he needed to ask his supervisor again. Then i got hung up on. Oops maybe the customer service should know what is going on with a sale before they answer the phone. Just a thoought.

It's been almost 2 weeks and they still won't issue my cert. The emails from their staff have numerous grammatical mistakes making them difficult to understand. The refuse to answer the questions I've asked them and they only send out one email every 24 hours. I provided my articles of incorporation and other documents with in an hour of paying for my cert. and I am still jumping through their hoops. I won't be surprised a bit if they demand a pint of my blood.

I think they have one person working here and they may be running this business in the basement of their parents house. Very unresponsive even after just chatting online with them. It's like they get up and walk away. Then you sit there wondering if it may have been dinner time and they had to go upstairs to eat. Useless as far as I'm concerned.

Comodo refused issuance of an Authenticode code-signing certificate. The only reason quoted was a non-E911 -compliant company phone number (Google Voice, SkypeIn, jConnect, etc.) for order verification "callbacks". No other means of order validation were offered by Comodo. Comodo vetting/support e-mail messages were brief, uninformative one-liners, featured frequent misspellings and lack of punctuation, were not even signed with a human first name, nor included any contact information. Not recommended. Switched to GlobalSign.

After seeing some of the reviews on this site for Comodo I was very reluctant to use them for my code signing certificate. Their prices were very attractive so I decided to give them a chance. I submitted the web form, faxed my confirmation documents and called them a couple of hours later to expedite the procedure. The confirming technician was great! Within fifteen minutes of my call I had my certificate. Could not be easier. My only small complaint is their website is picky about what browser you use. Only us IE to place the order.

I am an independent, non-incorporated developer attempting to get a code signing certificate and was too easily swayed by the cheap yearly subscription fee. The dunderheads at Comodo apparently don't understand the difference between a corporation and non-incorporated company, and continuously require more and more documentation to approve a certificate, including a phone bill addressed to my company name. (Umm, hello: I work out of my house. WHY would my phone bill be in my business name?!) One of their document requests/suggestions for non-incorporated individuals was a copy of your driver license and/or birth certificate. Excuse me, but with all the identity theft problems in the world today, WHY are these considered safe to send over the internet to some yahoo in India? I requested a refund and to cancel my order: I was told to write an email to refunds@comodo.com. I did so, but received a response asking me to: send an email request to refunds@comodo.com! Total and complete incompetance! I will be making a complaint to the Better Business Bureau, and calling my credit card company and force-reversing the charge if they don't refund the charge on my card by tomorrow!
