Purchase SSL certificates at the enterprise level and would rate customer service received from my account representative as excellent.

idea for a gift: a doc about openssl

The following refers to Trustico, a GeoTrust strategic partner. 18 certs requested in about 2 years: no one complied with our needs. Some cert with OU, some without. Very hard to solve the problem and reissue certs. I think they have to read at least some doc about SSL and/or openssl, because they asked me to send screenshots and site seals to investigate on the content of the bad certs. Trustic is a partner, not a ca. Low skills, bad web interface to make the requests, certs send by email. I'm switching to DigiCert.

Have asked for a 1-month trial Rapid SSL certificate since they claim they are unchained and my system doesn't support chained certs. After I had provided my personal data, approved the phone call and all emails, I've received an e-mail telling me "Our records indicate you recently requested a GeoTrust SSL Trial certificate for your website. Unfortunately, we are unable to complete your request at this time. Then I ask the support and they've reported they just can't tell why it has been refused. Thanks GeoTrust for the time I've wasted with your crappy service, I will NOT order anything from you!

I have been using Geotrust for many years now and find the ordering process to be wonderfully simple and quick. The only reason I do not give 5 stars is that the interface for those who manage many certificates like us is a little primative albeit functional. Any time I have had a customer service issue, it has been resolved very quickly.

I purchased 2 rapidssl certificates through rapidsslonline.com They are an affiliate of rapidssl/geotrust They took my money They did not send certs They wont answer phone calls or emails Rapidssl/geotrust also ignored my emails live chat was unhelpful jus said it wasnt their problem It is because I only bought through rapidsslonline because they were an approved international seller. Yeah they are cheap but I don't care how cheap. theft is theft and if you take my funds and refuse to supply the product that's theft. Bottom Line don't trust rapidssl/geotrust

Bad Customer Service

The RapidSSL customer service is terrible. They only have a chat based system even though I purchased phone support in my order. There is no set schedule for when their support is available. I would not recommend using RapidSSL.

Unlike other SSL products, you don't have to wait days to get your certificates — GeoTrust will issue your QuickSSL certificate in about 10 minutes with GeoTrust’s fully automated authentication and issuance process. This process verifies that a certificate purchaser has appropriate administrative rights to a web server's domain.

Good certificates, really bad support

Easy to order the certificate. I agree with John, the support team is not knowledgeable enough to help. They don't even answer the right question. There is no way you can manage your certificate online from a management console if you purchase less than 5 certificates. Instantssl (Comodo) allows customer to manage everything online. Certificate is good of course. But the support is very important. Geotrust doesn't really care about you.
