GoDaddy SSL Certificate Reviews

We use the GoDaddy Standard SLL certificate for our client area and we are very happy. We didn't need support as everything worked ok. If you use a coupon code you can get it for only $12.99 for the first year. Great deal ! Thanks.

I found their Standard SSL via a google search for $7.99 per year. I put a 5 year cert in the cart but the cart price was $292. What??? I called them, the guy told me "you can't get an SSL for that price". I told him what I found and he put me on hold and then when he came back on the website and the google searches all read $12.99 per year. He told me that I could not have seen that before. He called me a liar. I hate doing business with them. They *used* to be great but now they are just kinda dirty to deal with.

Last week, our consultant purchased an EV SSL certificate with free instant standard certificate for our client account. All documentation was submitted and the EV SSL was approved and issued. Last night, when I personally submitted a certificate request for a sub-domain to be used for testing purposes, Godaddy rejected my request and asked that I submit additional documentation for the standard certificate because the word "apple" appeared in this domain name. Our business is a registered LLC in California and has already verified our trade name with Godaddy during the EV SSL registration process; however, Godaddy support staff was unwilling and/or unable to issue a standard SSL for a sub-domain. Needless to say, this redundancy has not only caused a delay in web development but has also lead to significant increase in project costs. These policies have upset two loyal businesses and will cost Godaddy a considerable amount of future business.

In my case , for debian(6) i couldn't get any help or orientation. For validation of the certificate all the automated process failed , and i followed all the instructions received by email support. Cheap sometimes is expensive...!

A year ago I bought an SSL certificate from GoDaddy. At the time of buying I paid $14 which I believe is a good price. After clicking past lots and lots of bloat and various advertisement for their other products, I managed to get my certificate. This procedure took about 30 minutes, which is OK considering the price. Now, a year later, I've decided to go with another certificate authority. I logged on to their system and tried to remove the credit card information I've entered. No luck, since I still have active products attached to my account. As I do not want to cancel my current certificate before it expires, I cannot remove my credit card either. I had to call my bank and have them block credit card. VERY BAD, Godaddy. You lost a customer big time. I do not recommend GoDaddy. If you need a SSL certificate, there are other companies that may cost a dollar more but have WAY better service.

Purchased my first trusted cert from GoDaddy. Was finished and installed in less than an hour for a fraction of other providers fee. Cert works like it should- users automatically trust the cert.

We ordered an EV SSL from GoDaddy back in January. Now in mid March, we are still waiting for them to act on it. Nicole E. of customer service (handling the account) generally does not respond to my inquiries for days or weeks at a time. She has been telling me for over a month that she needs to get around to calling my lawyer to "authenticate" a legal opinion letter. Meanwhile, my lawyer has made several attempts to reach out to them on my behalf. Nothing. Very frustrating.
