GeoTrust SSL Certificate Reviews

This automated system makes it easy and very fast to get an SSL certificate. As long as you have access to the domains email (e.g webmaster@domian or postmaster@domain) and a phone you can get your certificate in minutes. I can't comment on customer service as I have never need to contact them.

I have purchased a few certificates from them now and the certificates have always been generated straight away. It would be really useful if you could login and see all your certificates in one place and re-download them if needed.

I purchased the GeoTrust SSL EV Certificate from my hosting company... Any questions I had, GeoTrust Chat was right there for me... They have a Great customer service Dept... and are Very Helpful... I am very pleased...

We use Geotrust most of the time cozz the SSL seems to have best compatibility, but for some time we keep having constant issues with corrupted certificates that do not work properly and have to spend many hours proving this to their support team, who often seem to have very little understanding of SSL themselves.

We have been using Geotrust for SSL certificates for the past 10 years. We recently upgraded to the True BusinessID with EV. Our clients know our website is secure with McAfee and all data transfer is encrypted with Geotrust.

I bought a certificate from them (I thought) and they say it was from a reseller. All info and instruction came from GeoTrust and when I asked for help they would not help even though their email said to contact them (GeoTrust). They said I had to go to the reseller whom I had no knowledge of. This is the worst 'customer support' I have ever experienced!

While their customer service has always been abysmal, until recent changes to the checks I've rarely had to contact them. Now we waste hours on every order as they either have no procedure or change it at will. They often lose the email (don't ask me how), and calls to them are met with a desk staffed by people with little knowledge and even less inclination to help. Worst of all however is that they seem to change their requirements every week, with documents and contacts sufficient last week considered unacceptable this week. Recent reasons for refusal having included the addition of a full stop at the end of a customers company name and Geotrusts inability to verify phone numbers by using the BT online phone directory (it was clearly listed as I pointed out to the supervisor I escalated to.) I'm now changing our provider as it's simply not worth the small profit on SSL's if we have to spend hours dealing with this organisation.

In the first phase we were happy to have them because our trust was full to them to get the SSL certificate, they always needed some documents partly by partly and took our time allot, on the other hand they told us to find a Turkish speaker to talk with our officals but they never did. So basically they do not take responsibility and keep their promises, we have provided them all the offical files but in the end they needed them hard copied, even our lawyer and trade commerce letter was offical and could be checked online on their offical website. So anyways we had to cancel our order, it was a time wasting experince and really effected our business.

I searched high and low... only to feel a bit disappointed with the price gouging. Then I checked https://www.sslmatrix.com/ which offered the superb deal for rapidssl (Geotrust) and I liked it enough, to purchased the certificate for 4 years... So far I'm very satisfied... Fully automated, no glitch, no issues just worked as advertized!
