Look at Go Daddy's SSL Market Share 'Grow Daddy Grow!'

"One Customer at a Time" Approach Leads to Off-the-Charts Spike

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--As more small and medium size businesses go online, its no coincidence GoDaddy.com is seeing tremendous growth for its Secure Certificates. In the past twelve months, Go Daddys SSL market share has increased 63 percent.

Business owners are always looking for a great deal, said Go Daddy CEO and Founder Bob Parsons. Our certificates provide the identical functionality our higher-priced competitors offer. The big difference is we sell them at a fraction of the cost AND we back them up with world-class support.

While the bulk of the growth is due to businesses, there are others who have taken advantage of Go Daddys Secure Certificates. Additional users include Web site login forms, online banking institutions and charity donation Web sites. In fact, there are countless ways to use an SSL Certificate to make data transactions of any kind secure on your Web site.

Go Daddy is currently ranked second in market share of Certificates issued at 16.4 percent, according to Netcraft LTD. Go Daddy is the leader for Web sites hosted with SSL Certificates as well. Not bad when you consider Go Daddy started providing Secure Certificates in May 2004.

Go Daddy had the largest increase in SSL certificates found by Netcraft on Internet Web sites of any of the certificate authorities during 2007, said Mike Prettejohn, Director of analyst firm Netcraft Ltd.

Go Daddy is growing at a rapid pacethe right way, organically. We have always been about helping customers one at a time and providing a reliable one-stop shop for people who want to be online, Parsons said.

Customers arent the only ones aware of the products and services Go Daddy provides. Additionally, Microsoft selected Go Daddy to provide the Secure Certificates for Windows Home Server, a new solution to help people protect, organize and share their digital content.

We selected Go Daddy to be our partner for a number of reasons, said Steven VanRoekel, Senior Director of Windows Server Solutions at Microsoft. Most notably, the quality of product and a reliable customer experience. We are confident Go Daddy will help our customers realize the full benefits of Windows Home Server.

An SSL Certificate enables encryption of online transactions and communications. GoDaddy.com SSL Certificates are offered in three assurance validation levels: Standard, Deluxe and the new Premium with Extended Validation. All GoDaddy.com certificates offer up to 256-bit encryption.
