Rating: 5
We are an online media agency based in the United Kingdom. We have been using Comodo SSL certificates for a number of years, we have also reselled them to our Clients and never had any issues what so ever. The customer support is always helpful and friendly. I would easily recommend Comodo to everyone.

Rating: 0
I ordered this from Hostgator, and my site was down for 11 days.. (and it's still down right now)..

They keep saying 4 to 8 hours.. and then, every night.. the site is still down.

I would NOT waste your time with Hostgator or Comodo because they are not on the same page.

Rating: 2
The ordering process is relatively straight-forward. The ordering website was probably developed pre 2000 though, the fonts are very small and you're never quite sure where you are in the process.

They do issue a blank certificate quite quickly but this is a blank certificate with none of the data from your certificate signing request (e.g. company name, location e.t.c). If you want the certificate you actually ordered, Comodo will make you jump through some completely random validation procedures which are utterly baffling and will suck up your whole week. Apparently they cannot just call you using the number on your businesses website, but must validate this phone number against two online directories (neither of which I had used before or even heard of)

I was told after 3 days that I should have ordered their "Comodo SSL" product rather than "Comodo Instant SSL" because of something to do with DCV. Their support staff did not tell me the meaning of DCV.

After being a customer of Comodo for 5 years now, I had assumed issuing a new certificate for the exact same website would be a very simple affair. Sadly not. It seems Comodo need some lessons on customer retention.

Their prices are quite reasonable (especially compared to Symantec/Verisign or whoever they are now) and I would say their response rate is also reasonable.

My advice when dealing with this company would be to contact them before ordering to clarify the validation process for the product that you need. I would recommend NOT to order online with this company because of the problems I have experienced.

Rating: 4
I like COMODO. The only reason for 4 stars is because I sat on hold for a very long time before getting a response via support. Other than that they are friendly, infrmative, and ready to help. A little confusing to figure out, especially using Joomla, but getting the hang of it is easy after a while.

Rating: 4
Needed a code certificate in a hurry, got it within an hour from helpful phone people. They sounded like in India but there was no circular logic - they got it done.

Problem was errors in the code installation but they gave us a workaround after a couple of calls - which they answered right away.

Installation of these things is rarely without hitches, so its what happens after and Comodo passed the test.

Rating: 0
Comodo validation is a farce.

I had to register in the "Scoot" web directory (to be more precise, the asked if I would register with "the online telephone directory" and it wasn't until I asked which one that they recommended Scoot), despite all the details necessary being available on the government-regulated Charity Commission website.

Their callback team excelled with an incompetence that hasn't been seen since the Captain of the Titanic muttered the words "What ******** iceberg?"

Really - these guys are awful. It took over 4 weeks to complete the order.

Save yourself the bother and go somewhere else.

Rating: 0
This company's communication is incredibly bad. If they reply, expect attitude, sarcasm and explanation marks.
Their 'callback' system is completely moronic and follows a criteria which bears no resemblance to security in the modern world. They will ask you to register company details on random websites which is all for 'validation'....please avoid.
